Cinnamon rolls recipe instant yeast

It tastes much better as this recipe provides a much better soft dough than the store-bought cinnamon rolls.

Homemade Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

Ingredients:

  1. Dough:
    • 1 cup warm milk or warm water (about 110°F/45°C)
    • 2 and 1/2 teaspoons instant yeast
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
    • 2 large eggs
    • 4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon salt
  2. Filling:
    • 1 cup brown sugar
    • 2 and 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
    • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  3. Cream Cheese Icing:
    • 6 tablespoons butter, softened
    • 1 and 1/2 cups powdered sugar
    • 1/4 cup cream cheese
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Air Fryer

Rolling pin

Mixing bowl or Bowl of a stand mixer

Dental floss or a sharp knife

Aluminum foil or Parchment paper

Instructions:


Step one – Prepare the Yeast: 

  • Dissolve the yeast in warm milk in a large bowl, add the sugar, and mix the combination well. 
  • Proof for 5 – 10 minutes. 

Step two – Prepare the Dough:

  • Mix well with butter, salt, eggs, and flour into the bowl with the yeast.
  • Using your hands, kick the dough into a large ball for about 5 minutes and dust lightly with flour.
  • Put in a bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place to allow the dough rise or until doubled in size, about 30 minutes to 1 hour.

  • Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and 1/3 cup butter in a bowl.

  • Roll up the dough and cut into 12 rolls.
  • Place rolls in a lightly oiled air fryer basket.

Step four – Bake:

  • Preheat oven to 180°C.
  • Bake cinnamon rolls for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Step five – Make the Icing:

  • Beat together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
  • Spread icing on warm rolls before serving.

The rise time may vary depending on the weather; make sure to keep the dough in a warm place.

Check the yeast mixture for proofing before adding the flour mixture.

  • Yes, you can prepare the rolls up to the point of baking for a quick cinnamon roll recipe, then cover and refrigerate overnight. Bring them to room temperature, let them rise, and then bake as instructed.
